Embracing Unity and Learning at FMDMS

November 30, 2024

This month of November was dedicated to Reading Month and the observance of Red Wednesday. These events not only promoted literacy and awareness but also strengthened the bonds of community and compassion among students and staff.

Reading Month brought stories and imagination to life, as students eagerly explored the book fairs – FMDMS Pre-loved Book Bazaar, Bookchigo, and Lampara – where they browsed through countless titles and discovered new genres to enjoy. A friendly competition unfolded as students participated in the DIY Bookmark contest. As November came to an end, another significant event took center stage – Red Wednesday. On November 27, the school paused to stand in solidarity with persecuted communities worldwide, raising awareness of the importance of religious freedom. The sight of Donoherian pupils, teachers, and staff dressed in red was a powerful symbol of compassion and unity. The day was marked by participation in a Holy Mass presided over by the school Director, Rev. Fr. Ariel A. Delos Reyes.

Both Reading Month and Red Wednesday were met with enthusiasm and active participation. Reading Month reminded us of the joy and importance of reading, while Red Wednesday encouraged us to reflect on the values of empathy and unity.

Donoherians celebrated not only the success of these initiatives but also the lessons and connections they fostered. FMDMS now looks forward to carrying the spirit of November into future activities and celebrations.
